 The
most highly anticipated game of the year, next to Resident Evil 2, is of
course Tekken 3. Tekken 3 takes place several years later after the 2nd
tournament (Tekken 2) is over, and according to the sources have aged gracefully,
bringing maturity and power to the ring. With the old characters, Heihachi
and Yoshimitsu have changed the most. Heihachi is now an old wise man,
immensely powerful, yet crafty. Yoshimitsu has continued to mutate, now
resembling the alien he truly is. New characters, like Jin Kazama and Julia,
are sons and daughters of previous Tekken characters. The conversion from
arcade to your Playstation should be interesting. In the arcades, Tekken
3 used the System 12, which is the next step up from the Playstation arcade
System 11 board. For the longest time, many wondered how the 12's advanced
capabilities would translate to the PlayStation console hardware. I guess
we'll have to wait and see. Basically, if you've been a fan of the Tekken
fighting, you're going to like Tekken 3. It's very similar to the Tekken
2, with a few game play enhancements and tweaks. Namely, some of the older
characters have more impressive attacks. Namco knows a good thing when
it sees it, so it hasn't felt the need to make any radical changes. So
in the words of Stone Cold Steve Austin "And That's the Bottom Line!" For
now, well, see if all this hype leads up to a hellva game!
